Wyndarra Park Mystical Wish
'Shammy'
This is a special tribute to a very special little horse whom i love dearly.
Shammy was the first foal born here at wyndarra park.
His sire was Buckwell Park Mystical Ninja
His dam was Bal-Bow Priscilla Lee
Shammy made his entrance into the world at 11:55pm on the 26/11/05.
He was a Black and white pinto standing at only 16" tall he was born to be a show horse.
He allways gave his best at every show, never nasty or cranky he was a pleasure to have around
With to many wins to list some of the most memorable include -
IMHR nationals 2006 National reserve champion weanling colt
IMHR Nationals 2007 National reserve champion yearling colt
Canberra royal 2007 1st miniature horse colt under 2years
Canberra royal 2007 1st pinto colt under 2 years & Reserve Champion pinto stallion or colt
He then attended Sydney royal to win 1st miniature horse under 2 years
What a show career he had.
After sydney royal shammy was having a well deserved break, when something didnt seem right.
After multiple visits and consults from vets both in Australia and overseas and countless xrays Shammy was diagnosed with patella luxation
Again the vets were consulted to plan our course of action for Shammy.
Tragically his condition deteriorated and surgery was not an option due to the severity of his condition so a heartbreaking decision was made.
In a way that is hard to explain shammy let me know when it was time.
Whilst heartbreaking the look of relief in his eyes seemed to be his way he was telling me that he is ok now
Shammy passed away at 2:35pm on the 15th may 2008
Buried facing the sunrise he will see each day coming, free from pain he is able to rest peacefully.
He touched the hearts of so many people, he was a special horse who is dearly missed.
My special boy, my first foal ... you hold a special place in my heart.
Rest in peace shammy
